Nadan Clam Meat (kakkaerachi) Roast
Kakkaerachi Roast is one of my favourite curry. Kakkaerachi is rich in calcium. Kakkaerachi Roast goes well with plain rice or idiyappam.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1/2 kg Clam meat
- 2 Onion — finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Ginger/ garlic paste
- 3 Green chilli
- 6 Fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 tsp Fennel powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Chilli powder
- 2 tsp Pepper powder
- Curryleaves
- 4 tbsp Coconut oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Warm coconut oil in a pan, allow to crackle fenugreek seeds, add chopped onions, ginger / garlic paste, green chill,curry leaves and cook it, stirring well.
Step 2
Add all the above mentioned powders and cook it, stirring again.
Step 3
Stir in the cleaned and washed kakkaerachi,salt and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Put the lid on and let it go for 15-20 minutes,stirring occasionally until it becomes dry and brown colour.
Step 5
Nadan Kakkaerachi Roast is ready. Serve hot with plain rice,appam or idiyappam.
Tip
A heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet gives you the best results for a proper Kerala fry. Thin pans burn the spices before the meat dries.
