Mutton Rice

Ingredientsfor 8 servings
- Mutton - 300 gm
- Kayama Rice - 1kg
- Tomato - 2 nos,chopped
- Green chilly - 4 nos
- Ginger and garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder
- Onion - 1 no, big
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Dry lemon - 1 no
- Pepper - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick - 2-3 pcs
- Oil -, to taste
- Water -, to taste
- Salt -, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the mutton with onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chilly, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder,1/4 tsp turmeric powder,1/4 tsp garam masala, salt and water as needed.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a vessel and cook some onion, cinnamon stick, garlic, cardamom, green chilly, pepper and dry lemon for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add water and masalas.
Step 4
When the water gets boil adds rice and cooked mutton.let it go for 15-20 minutes.
Step 5
Garnish it with fried onion, raisins and almonds.
Tip
Whole spices — cardamom, cloves, cinnamon — go in early with the oil. They need time to infuse their flavour into the fat.
