Mutton Liver Curry
A high protein and fat rich dish, very good for kids. The dish can be served as an appetizer. It is also commonly served as a side dish with porotta, roti and even with rice.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 250 g Mutton liver
- 1 tsp Perumjeerakam
- 3 piece Cinnamon
- 2 nos Cloves
- 2 nos Cardamom
- 4 nos Green chilly
- 1 tsp Pepper : 1 tsp
- 1 nos Onion
- 1 nos Tomato
- 1/2 inch Piece Ginger
- 4 Cloves garlic
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the Dish, first clean the mutton liver well. Wash well and drain.
Step 2
Heat a kadai and add oil. When its hot, add the sliced onion and crushed ginger and garlic.
Step 3
Cook it, stirring well and then add the crushed spices (perumjeerakam, cinnamon, cardamom, clove and pepper).
Step 4
Give it a good stir and then add chopped tomato and green chilly to it.
Step 5
When its sauteed well then add leaves.
Step 6
Add pudina leaves and little of coriander leaves to it.
Step 7
Give it a good stir and add turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder.
Step 8
Mix it well.
Step 9
Add sliced liver to it.
Step 10
Mix it well.
Step 11
Add little water to it and close the pan for 10 minutes and let it cook.
Step 12
Next, add the coriander leaves and off the flame.
Step 13
Our dish is ready to serve. The nutritious dish is very easy to prepare and even bachelors and newcomers can give a bold try.
Tip
Low and slow is the only way with mutton. Rushing the cooking gives you tough, chewy meat instead of fork-tender pieces.
