Mutta Marachath Easy
A quick and satisfying egg dish that proves you do not need expensive ingredients to eat well. Boiled eggs in a spiced gravy, or scrambled with onions and curry leaves — simple Kerala cooking at its most practical.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 8 nos Egg
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Cardamom powder
- Cashew nut, to taste
- Raisins, to taste
- Ghee, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing mutta marachath, mix egg, sugar and cardamom powder in a mixer grinder and set aside.
Step 2
Fry cashew and raisins in ghee and add it to the egg mixture.
Step 3
Pour this mixture to a bottom thick vessel and cook it in low flame with closed lid.
Step 4
Take it off the heat.(when it¦s cooked well the mixture will not float when tilted).
Step 5
Unmould it to a flat plate and serve into cut pieces.
Tip
Hard-boil the eggs first, then make shallow cuts on the surface before adding them to the gravy — this lets the masala flavour penetrate inside.
