Mushroom With Green Peas
Mushroom, frozen green peas and other ingredients are cooked in a spicy gravy.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 8 nos Mushrooms — cut into small pieces
- 1 cup Frozen green peas
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 nos Tomato
- 1 Pod Garlic — grated
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 nos Green chilly
- 11/2 tbsp Oil
- Cumin seeds A pinch (Jeerakam)
- 1 tbsp Fresh cream
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Butter — grated
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing mushroom with green peas, first grind tomato with turmeric powder and green chilly.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a deep bottomed pan and allow to crackle cumin seeds. cook the chopped onion, garlic and pepper.
Step 3
Add the ground tomato paste. Fry till the oil separates.
Step 4
Stir in mushroom, frozen green peas, salt and 1/2 cup of water.
Step 5
Cook on a medium heat till all the water evaporates.
Step 6
Garnish with grated butter, fresh cream and chopped coriander leaves.
Step 7
Mushroom with green peas, a spicy mushroom recipe, is ready.
Tip
When the recipe says "medium heat," it means medium. Kerala cooking is not about high-flame drama — most of the work happens at a patient, steady temperature.
