Mullan Chakka Thoran | Mullatha Thoran | Soursop Stir Fry
The rare and healthy Mullan Chakka Thoran | Mullatha Thoran – a Kerala-style soursop stir fry rich in flavor, tradition, and nutrition.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Mullan Chakka (chopped
- 3/4 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 3-4 nos Green chilly
- 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves, a few
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Grind the grated coconut by adding green chilly and garlic into a coarse paste. Set aside.
Step 2
Remove the skin of mullatha and cut into small pieces. Then remove the seeds.
Step 3
Chop it.
Step 4
Add one chopped onion and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 5
Pour oil into a kadai and heat it and let the mustard seeds crackle, and add curry leaves.
Step 6
Add coconut mix and cook for 30 seconds.
Step 7
Next, add chopped mullatha onion mix.
Step 8
Add turmeric powder and salt to taste, Fold everything together gently.
Step 9
Continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes and Give it a stir now and then.
Step 10
Serve alongside rice or chapathi as a healthy side dish.
Tip
This same method works for almost any vegetable: beans, beetroot, carrot, raw banana — swap the main vegetable and keep everything else the same.
