Mulakarachathu - 3 Types
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 15 nos Shallots Cheriya Ulli
- 4 nos Red chillies (Kollamulaku)
- Salt, to taste
- Coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Style 1:- 1)Grind together shallots and red chillies. 2)Add salt and 2 tbsp coconut oil and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 2
Style 2:- 1)Grind together shallots and red chillies. 2)Heat the oil in a pan or a kadai. 3)let the mustard seeds crackle and cook curry leaves. 4)Add chammandhi and sauté.
Step 3
Optionally you can add 1 tomato while grinding.
Step 4
Style 3:- 1)Warm coconut oil in a pan or a kadai. 2)cook shallots. 3)Add 2 sprigs curry leaves, tomato, chilly and 1/2 tsp pepper (optional). 4)Add salt. 5)Grind it to a paste.
