Moru Curry
A simple curd based Kerala side dish. It is usually prepared by adding ash gourd or pappaya or cucumber.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Curd
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
- Ginger small piece
- 2 Garlic
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard & (uluva)
- Curry leaves
- 2 Unakku Mulaku/ red chillies
- 1 Teaspoon (Jeerakam)
- 3-4 small Onions
- Salt for taste
Preparation
Step 1
Grind coconut, jeerakam, turmeric, ginger, garlic, small onion to a smooth paste.
Step 2
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and add mustard & uluva, unakku mulaku, small onions, curry leaves and let it become brown colour.
Step 3
Next, add the coconut paste to it and let it boil.
Step 4
Turn off the heat and mix curd in it.
Step 5
Moru curry is ready.
Tip
For a thicker gravy, cook uncovered on medium heat for the last few minutes. For a thinner consistency, add a splash of warm water.
