Molagooshiam - Brahmin Special
Cherupayar paruppu, elephant yam, raw banana and other ingredients are cooked together - Molagooshiam - Brahmin Special.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Green gram dal Cherupayaru parippu
- 1/4 kg Elephant yam Chena
- 1 nos Raw banana
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Pepper powder
- 2 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Urad dal parippu (Uzhunnu)
- 1 nos Red chilly cut in half
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing molagooshiam - brahmin special, wash and boil green gram dal in cooker adding pinch of turmeric powder and enough quantity of water.
Step 2
Cut and wash elephant yam and raw banana and boil this also in cooker with sufficient quantity of water adding turmeric powder and salt. (Please note that item 1 and item 2 must be cooked in 2 different pots of the cooker).
Step 3
After boiling, mix item 1 and item 2 and cook for a few minutes. Add pepper powder and then add curry leaves.
Step 4
Fry mustard seed, urad dal and red chilly in coconut oil add this to the mixture.
Step 5
Molagooshiam - brahmin special recipe, is ready.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
