Mixed Vegetable Uppuma
A home-style Kerala dish made with care and the kind of spice knowledge that comes from watching someone else cook it a hundred times. Each step matters, and the result is worth the effort.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 250 g Semolina Rava/Sooji
- 1 cup Beans — chopped
- 1 cup Carrots — chopped
- 1/2 cup Onion — chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger — chopped
- 2 Stem Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 50 ml Oil
- Salt, to taste
- 200 ml Water
Preparation
Step 1
Fry rava, till very light brown.
Step 2
Heat cooking oil in a pan.
Step 3
Add mustard seeds and when they crackle, add curry leaves.
Step 4
Add chopped beans, carrot, onion and ginger.
Step 5
Cook for about 5 minutes, till the beans and carrot get cooked.
Step 6
Add water and allow it to boil.
Step 7
Add salt and give it a good stir.
Step 8
When it starts to boil, add rava.
Step 9
Give it a good stir and remove from fire.
Tip
