Mixed Ladoo
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 cup Wheat
- 1/2 cup Raw rice Pachchari
- 1/2 cup Semolina Rava
- 50 g Nuts Nilakadala — ground
- 50 g Almonds Badam
- 50 g Cashew nuts
- 50 g Pistas
- 50 g Raisins Unakka mundhiri
- 50 g Dates Eetha Pazham
- 11/2 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 1/2 cup Ghee
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing mixed ladoo, fry wheat, rice and rava separately.
Step 2
Make a coarse powder of wheat and rice.
Step 3
Grind the ground nuts, almonds, cashew nuts and pistas coarsely.
Step 4
Smash dates and powder sugar.
Step 5
Mix the powders and dates.
Step 6
Heat ghee in a kadai and make balls out of the prepared mixture adding ghee little by little.
Step 7
Make sure that the ghee is warm while making ladoos.
Step 8
Mixed ladoos are ready.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
