Milk Kesari
Milk kesari which is also known as paal kesari is an easy and sweet.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 cup Rava/sooji 250 g
- 1 cup Sugar
- 3 cup Milk 750 ml
- 4 tbsp Ghee / butter
- 4 nos Cardamom
- Turmeric powder a pinch to add colour
- 10 - Cashews
- 10-15 nos Raisins
Preparation
Step 1
Get milk in a pan, add sugar.
Step 2
Add powdered cardamom followed by the pinch of turmeric powder. Stir the milk occasionally and Bring to a gentle boil.
Step 3
In a thick bottom pan add the ghee / butter and roast the cashews and raisins, set aside.
Step 4
Add rava to the remaining ghee and roast in low flame for about 4- 5 minutes till you get a nice fragrance.
Step 5
Add the cashews and raisins.
Step 6
Add the boiling hot milk, keep stirring continuously so that no lumps are formed.
Step 7
Rava will absorbs the milk and whole mixture thickens. Transfer the milk kesari to serving bowl and garnish with raisins and cashews.
Step 8
Serve while still hot Kesari.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
