Meen Curry In Coconut Milk
this mouth watering dish with the rich aroma of coconut milk, coconut oil and curry leaves.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 8-10 Sardines Sardines/Mackerels
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 3 nos Green chillies — sliced
- 1/4 tsp Ginger — sliced
- 1/4 tsp Garlic — crushed
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
- 1/2 cup Tamarind juice
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- Salt, to taste
- Curry leaves, a few
Preparation
Step 1
Cut, clean, wash and drain the fish pieces.
Step 2
Put the fish pieces in an earthen pot or wok or kadai,.
Step 3
Add cut onions, ginger, green chillies, garlic, red chilly powder, turmeric, leaves, tamarind juice, salt and little water and cook till done.
Step 4
Add coconut milk and curry leaves. take it off the heat before boiling starts. Add coconut oil. Fish curry is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
