Meen Bajji | Fish Fritters
Crispy, golden, and gone before they cool down — these fried snacks are the kind of thing that appears with evening tea and disappears within minutes. Best eaten hot, right out of the oil.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 4 nos Fish slices
- 1 tbsp Ginger paste
- 1 tbsp Onion paste
- 1 tbsp Green chilly paste
- 2 tsp Mint leaves paste
- 2 tbsp Lime juice
- 1/4 cup Gram flour Kadala mavu
- 1/4 cup All purpose flour Maida
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing fish ginger fry, marinate fish slices with lime juice and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Mix gram flour, maida, ginger paste, chilly paste, onion paste, mint paste and salt.
Step 3
Mix little water and make smooth batter.
Step 4
Coat fish with this batter and fry it in oil.
Step 5
Fish fritters are ready.
Tip
Oil temperature is critical. Too hot and the outside burns before the inside cooks. Too cool and the snack absorbs oil and turns soggy.
