Meat Rice
A one-pot rice dish that brings together grains, spices, and vegetables or meat in a single satisfying meal. The rice absorbs every flavour in the pot and comes out fragrant, colourful, and complete.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500 g Meat
- 4 cup Biriyani rice washed and — drained
- 4 nos Onion
- 1 nos Tomato
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- 5 nos Green chillies
- 1 tbsp Chilly powder
- 4 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 3 Pods Cardamom (Elakka)
- Cinnamon A small piece (Karugapatta)
- 4 nos Cloves (Grambu)
- 1 nos Lemon
- 1/4 cup Oil
- Coriander, mint and curry leaves, a few
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Add all masala powders to the meat including pepper powder, garam masala and salt,and set aside.
Step 2
Add 2 tbsp coconut oil in the pressure cooker and heat. Add sliced onion. After some time, add ginger, garlic, green chillies and tomatoes. 3)Add the above meat into the cooker and add 1 cup of water and cook till done(lower the flame after 1 whistle).
Step 3
Get another round bottomed pan followed by a few oil. Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cumin and add 5 cup of water.
Step 4
After boiling that, add the pressure cooked meat(not fully done)to it.
Step 5
Add coriander, mint and curry leaves to it. Check for salt and add if needed. 7)Then add the rice and lemon juice and close the pan.
Step 6
Lower the flame when rice and water comes in the same level.
Step 7
Wait for 10 more min and make dry. Serve hot.
Tip
Soak the rice for at least 20 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking and prevents the grains from breaking.
