Masala Shrimps(Pan Fried)
You can prepare this dish using minimal ingredients, go ahead and try out this simple recipe. Serve this as an appetizer or as a side dish with rice.
Ingredientsfor 5 servings
- 20 nos Shrimps peeled and deveined
- 2 Lemons Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Oil
- 2 tsp Chilly Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Fenugreek Powder A pinch Podi (Uluva)
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp Fish masala powder — optional
Preparation
Step 1
Clean and wash the shrimps thoroughly. Add 2 tbsp of lemon juice to the shrimps and soak it in water for 5-10 minutes. This will help in eliminating any unwanted odour from the shrimps. Drain the water and keep the shrimps aside.
Step 2
Marinate using the above ingredients and apply it on the shrimp. Keep it for half an hour.
Step 3
Heat a non stick tava or frying pan and spread a few drops of oil on the surface.
Step 4
Place the marinated shrimps on the hot pan and Put the lid on and cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
Step 5
Flip the shrimps and fry for another 3-4 minutes till they begin to brown.
Step 6
Be careful not to burn the shrimps. Remove from pan and serve hot.
Tip
A clay pot gives fish curry a distinctive taste that metal pans cannot replicate. If you have a manchatti, use it.
