Mango Pulp
the base for preparation of a variety of jams, drinks and marmalades. Pick your favorite variety of mango for preparing pulp.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 5 - 8 nos Ripe Mangoes
- 1 nos Lemon
- 1 pinch Salt
Preparation
Step 1
Wash, peel and cut the mangoes into pieces (remove the seed and discard it).
Step 2
Grind the mango pieces nicely.
Step 3
Heat a Cheenachatti/Frying Pan and transfer the mango paste into this Cheenachatti/Frying pan. Boil the paste in low flame and stir it continuously till all water gets evaporated. Generally, this procedure will take about 30 - 45 minutes.
Step 4
Before the water gets evaporated fully, cut the Lemon and add the lemon juice and salt into this mixture.
Step 5
When water is fully evaporated and the mango paste turns into pulp form, turn off the heat and allow to cool the Stir everything together thoroughly. Mango Pulp is ready.
Step 6
Change this Mango Pulp into clean and dry glass jar/bottle and store it in the refrigerator. This pulp can be used to prepare Mango Shake/Mango Juice etc. Adding other required ingredients accordingly.
Step 7
If this pulp is stored properly we can use it for many days.
Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
