Mango Pie
A traditional preparation from Kerala that balances flavour, texture, and aroma in the way that only home cooking can. No two households make it exactly the same, and that is the point.
Ingredientsfor 15 servings
- 1 Can Mango pulp
- Heavy cream half pt
- 2 Packets Unflavoured gelatin
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 Cream cheese 8 ounce
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup Warm water
- 2 Graham cracker crust
Preparation
Step 1
Boil heavy cream in a pan.
Step 2
Mix the gelatin in warm water and allow the gelatin to get dissolved completely.
Step 3
Blend the heavy cream and gelatin together.
Step 4
Add cream cheese and sugar into it and blend again.
Step 5
Pour the mango pulp turn by turn into the blender and beat it, until the whole can of mango pulp is finished.
Step 6
Add vanilla essence into the beaten pulp and beat again for a minute.
Step 7
Pour the entire pulp into the graham cracker crust and refrigerate for almost 7 hours to set completely.
Step 8
From one pie crust, u will be able to get 8 slices.
Tip
Grinding spices fresh makes a noticeable difference. Pre-ground powders lose their punch within weeks. Buy whole, toast lightly, and grind as you need.
