Mango Pachadi - Kerala Style
A traditional Kerala Sadya dish that carries the flavours of coconut, yogurt, and carefully balanced spices. Each component of the feast has its role, and this one brings a quiet, essential balance to the banana leaf.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 nos Raw mango — cut into small pieces, big
- Red dry chilly
- 2 tsp Bengal gram (Kadalaparippu)
- 1/4th of Coconut scraped
- 3 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- 1 cup Curd
Preparation
Step 1
Fry Bengal gram and dry chilly in oil.
Step 2
Grind it with coconut, mustard and salt into a coarse form.
Step 3
Add water and grind to a thick paste.
Step 4
Add handful cut mango and grind coarsely.
Step 5
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 6
Allow to crackle mustard and curry leaves and pour the paste into it and switch off the stove.
Step 7
Add curd on top of it and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Add the left over mangoes and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Goes well with rice.
