Mamma's Meen ( Fish ) Curry
This is My Favourite Fish Curry Recipe. I Learned This Recipe From My Mother.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 500 g Fish any fish
- 1 / Coconut — grated
- 1 / Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Kashmiri chilly powder
- 1 / Fennel seeds
- 1 Garlic pod
- 8 nos Shallots
- 3 nos Green chilly slit length wise
- 1 nos Tomato — chopped
- 4-5 nos Tamarind kudampuli
- 1 / Fenugreek seeds
- Curry leaves
- 2 tbsp Coconut oil
- Salt, as needed
Preparation
Step 1
Clean and wash the fish and set aside. Grind the grated Coconut with fennel seeds, garlic, 2 small onions, turmeric powder, chilli powder and little curry leaves.
Step 2
Pour this ground coconut paste into a mud pot.Add green chillies, tomato, tamarind, salt and allows it to boil.
Step 3
Next, add fish pieces, Put the lid on and cook in low flame for 10-12 minutes. (Check occasionally).
Step 4
Warm coconut oil in a pan and allow to crackle fenugreek seeds, fry shallots and curry leaves.Pour this into the fish curry.
Step 5
The fish curry with steamed rice.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
