Malabar Style Beef Fry
Slow-roasted in coconut oil with a generous hand of spices, this beef fry develops layers of flavour as it dries out on the pan. The patience pays off — every piece is coated and concentrated.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 200 g Beef
- 50 g Shallots
- 8 nos Garlic
- Ginger A small piece
- 3 nos Green chilly
- Curry leaves, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook the beef with chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and water as needed.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a vessel and cook shallots in it for 3 minutes.
Step 3
Add garlic, ginger, green chilly and curry leaves and Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add masalas and cooked beef. Let it cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
Tip
Thin strips cook faster and develop more crispy surface area than thick cubes. Cut against the grain for tenderness.
