Malabar Squid Curry-Nadan Koonthal Curry
Malabar Squid Curry or Nadan Koonthal curry are one of my family favourite curry dish,we cooked it in style. This is special seafood. uncooked squid contains around 198 milligrams of cholesterol and 13.2 grams of protein along with 0.3 grams of total saturated fat.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 3 Kanava squid
- 1 large Onion
- 1 medium Tomato
- 2 Chilly
- 1 Tspn Ginger
- 1 Tspn garlic
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 Tspn Turmeric powder
- 2 Tspn Chilly powder
- 1 Tspn Coriander powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 Tspn Fennel seed powder
- 1 Tspn Pepper powder
Preparation
Step 1
Wash and clean the squid and cut into small pieces.
Step 2
Gather and prep all your ingredients before you begin.
Step 3
Set a kadai over medium heat and pour in the oil and add ginger garlic paste,onion,salt and green chilly.cook until the onion turns lightly browned.
Step 4
Add all masala powders and Let it cook for 3 minutes,or until the raw smell disappears.
Step 5
Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
Step 6
Add squid and Stir everything together thoroughly.(add a splash of water if required).
Step 7
Cover and Leave it to simmer for a couple of minutes. The squid will cook very quickly, so ensure it stays tender.Remove from the heat, finish with some fresh green coriander and serve.
Step 8
Delicious Malabar Squid Curry-Nadan Koonthal Curry is ready.Have it with chappathi,roti etc.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
