Macaroni With Tunafish
The smell of fish cooking in coconut oil with curry leaves is the smell of every fishing village kitchen in Kerala. Quick to cook, deeply satisfying, and always served with hot rice.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1 cup Macaroni
- 1 Tin Tuna fish
- 2 nos Onions — chopped
- 1/2 tsp Garlic / ginger paste
- 2 nos Green chilli
- 1 nos Tomato
- 1 / Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Chilli powder
- Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
- 4 tbsp Oil
- Salt, as needed
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the macaroni with salt and drain it out.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pan and heat it, add chopped onion, ginger / garlic paste, green chilli and cook it, stirring well.
Step 3
Add turmeric, chilli powder, tomato, salt and cook it, stirring again.
Step 4
Add tuna fish pieces and stir it well.
Step 5
Next, add boiled macaroni, give it a good stir and mix properly.
Step 6
Serve it hot with tomato sauce.
Tip
Seafood cooks in minutes. The single biggest mistake is overcooking — the moment fish turns opaque or prawns curl and go pink, they are done.
