Kilsa is a delectable sweet recipe which is very popular in North Kerala. It is a simple, quick and tasty sweet recipe to make at home. This smooth, creamy sweet is a special dish made with Maida. It can also be made with Wheat and Ragi.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Maida
- 10 nos Cashew
- 10 nos Raisins
- 1/2 Of Grated coconut
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- Sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Add required water to the maida, mix and keep it soaked till it absorbs the water.Drain water from the maida.
Step 2
Get thin and thick coconut milk from the coconut. Add the thin coconut milk and a pinch of salt to the maida, cook it well.
Step 3
Next, add thick coconut milk to this and stir it well. When it starts to boil, turn off the heat. Transfer this mixture into a serving bowl or glass.
Step 4
Heat ghee in a pan,roast cashews and raisins.Drop it on the mixture along with ghee.Add sugar, of your choice.
Step 5
Serve it hot or cold.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
