Kerala Vatta Fish Fry
an awesome fried fish delicacy, very popular in Kerala, God’s Own Country. Deep fried dish is a mouth watering favorite ed well with hot rice.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 large Vatta fish — cleaned
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- Oil to fry
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Kerala Vatta Fish Fry, first marinate the fish pieces with a mixture of ginger garlic paste, salt, chilli powder, pepper powder and turmeric powder. Heat the oil in a kadai and fry fish till golden brown for 5 minutes.
Step 2
When one side is cooked turn the other side.
Step 3
Now it is ready to serve.
Tip
A heavy-bottomed pan or cast iron skillet gives you the best results for a proper Kerala fry. Thin pans burn the spices before the meat dries.
