Kerala style Mushroom thoran - Kerala Tasty Mushroom Thoran.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 Package Small white mushrooms about 12 - 14 nos
- 5 - Green chillies
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 - Fresh grated coconut
- 1 nos Small onion — thinly sliced (Kunjulli)
- 1 tsp Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Remove skin of mushroom and inner black layer.
Step 2
Slice into thin pieces and wash it in cold water.
Step 3
Mix together chopped mushrooms, turmeric, salt, thinly sliced green chillies and coconut.
Step 4
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil or a kadai.
Step 5
Fry sliced onion in it.
Step 6
Add the above mixture.
Step 7
Allow to steam for 7 - 10 minutes.
Step 8
Give it a stir now and then.
Step 9
Do not add water.
Tip
Grated coconut goes in last and cooks just long enough to warm through. Overcooking makes it chewy instead of soft.
