Kerala Style Potato Curry
A side dish with potato in a nadan style. This is a good side dish with rice, appam.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1/4 kg Potato
- 1 cup Onion
- 5 Green chilly
- 1 bunch Curry leaf
- 1 cup Coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 Spoon gram masala
- 1 bunch Coriander
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 Ts mustard seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Boil the potatoes in oven for 30 minutes and peel.
Step 2
Mash these potatoes with hand.
Step 3
Heat 1 spoon of oil in a kadai add mustard seeds.when it crackle add onions.
Step 4
Next, add chopped green chilly.
Step 5
Add all powders,garam masala and salt.
Step 6
Add mashed potatoes also.
Step 7
Mix all together and add 1cup coconut milk.
Step 8
Let it bubble for 5 minutes.Allow cooking well as potatoes and masalas Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Now Kerala style potato curry is ready to serve.
Tip
The oil separating from the masala is your signal that the base is properly cooked. Do not add the main ingredient before you see those pools of oil on the surface.
