Kerala Style Onion Chutney
Ground fresh and served immediately, this chutney hits all the right notes — heat from the chillies, richness from coconut, and a sharp tang that cuts through rich curries and fried foods.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1/4 kg Onion small
- 100 g Red chilli
- 4 tbsp Coconut oil
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat 2 tbspn coconut oil in a kadai.
Step 2
Add redchilli and cook until light brown.
Step 3
Remove red chilli and add onions and cook it, stirring till golden brown.
Step 4
Add salt to this onion and redchilli and grind it into a fine paste.
Step 5
Top up with cocnut oil and serve with dosa and iddli.
