Kerala Style Fish Molly | Fish Molly

Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1/2 kg Fish
- 2 nos Onion — sliced
- 2 nos Green chillies — sliced
- 1 tsp Ginger — sliced
- 1 tsp Garlic — sliced
- 1 nos Tomato — sliced
- 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 cup Coconut milk
- Curry leaves, a few
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Fish Molly, make a thick paste of chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and lemon juice.
Step 2
Clean fish and marinate it with the prepared paste. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Slice onion, garlic, ginger and tomato.
Step 4
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 5
Fry fish for about 3 minutes.
Step 6
In the same pan, cook onion followed by ginger, garlic and sliced green chillies.
Step 7
When you get the smell of green chillies, add tomato and cook well.
Step 8
Add curry leaves and garam masala and cook it, stirring for 1 minute.
Step 9
Add coconut milk to it and let it boil for a minute.
Step 10
Add salt as needed.
Step 11
Add fish pieces and allow it to boil until fish is done.
Step 12
Transfer to a bowl and garnish it with a tomato rose.
Step 13
This is best if u have any leftover fish fry. You can have it with bread or chappathis. Instead of coconut milk, you can add whole milk also.
Tip
A clay pot gives fish curry a distinctive taste that metal pans cannot replicate. If you have a manchatti, use it.
