Kerala Style Chicken Fry
one of the most irresistible dishes both for adults and kids. Fried chicken pieces will be crispy on the outer surface and soft on the inside. The uniqueness of Kerala Style Chicken Fry dish is that chicken pieces will be properly cooked inside.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 kg Chicken
- 1 nos Onion — cut into slices, big
- 1 nos Tomato — cut into slices
- 2 tbsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt, to taste
- Curry leaves Atleast 5 sprigs
- Coconut Oil/Sunfower Oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cut the chicken into medium pieces.
Step 2
Place a pan on the stove (preferably Non stick pan) and put chicken, onion, tomato, chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt and gently mix together.
Step 3
Pour water to the same level(or lesser than the same level) of chicken.
Step 4
Heat the pan (maximum level) and keep until all the water dries up.
Step 5
The gravy will stay thick on the chicken.
Step 6
Pour oil to this content to fry in hot oil it and put it in sim at least for about 20 minutes.
Step 7
Keep adding each sprig of curry leaves every 5 minutes.
Step 8
The more you add, the more it tastes.
Step 9
Squeeze lemon on it finally to give better taste.the Kerala Style Chicken Fry with rice or roti.
Tip
Bone-in chicken gives a richer, more flavourful gravy than boneless. The marrow flavours the curry as it cooks.
