Kerala Style Beef Fry
Pan-fried until the edges go dark and crispy, this beef fry is the kind of dish you eat standing in the kitchen before it ever reaches the table. Dry-roasted with spices and finished with a fistful of curry leaves.
Ingredientsfor 15 servings
- 4 Lbs Beef
- 1 piece Ginger chopped to fine pieces
- 4 tbsp Red onion — chopped
- 2 tbsp Garlic — minced
- 2 tbsp Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
- Salt A reqd
- 4-5 cup Onion
- 4 tbsp Ginger
- 3 tbsp Garlic
- 6 nos Jalopeno peppers Add more to make it spicy
- 5 To Curry leaves
- Coconut slivers A, a few
- 4 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 To Red pepper powder
- 1 tbsp Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Garam masala heaped
- 3/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Asafoetida
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pressure cook the above ingredients until beef is cooked.
Step 2
Fry ginger & garlic and onion.
Step 3
Add jalopeno peppers, coconut slivers & curry leaves.
Step 4
Fry till onion turns brown.
Step 5
Add all the powders and add beef. Fry till your hearts content.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
