Kerala Simple Rava Kesari
A popular South Indian dish prepared from semolina. The healthy nutritious ghee flavored Kerala Simple Rava Kesari is quite amazing and a favorite with kids.
Ingredientsfor 10 servings
- 1 kg Semolina Sooji/Rava
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 1/2 litre Milk
- 1 kg Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Color yellow
- 100 g Raisins Onakkamunthiri
- 10 nos Cardamom — powdered (Elakka)
- 100 g White sugar crystals Kalkkandam
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Kerala Simple Rava Kesari, first fry rava and ghee till it become crisp and slight brown.
Step 2
Once done, add milk and sugar and Stir everything together thoroughly in low flame till all the milk gets evaporated.
Step 3
Add the rest of the ingredients to it and and spread it on a buttered plate in 1/2 inch thick.
Step 4
Once the mixture cools down, cut the mix in small diamond shapes.
Step 5
Decorate each Kerala Simple Rava Kesari piece with a cashew nut.
