Kerala Semiya Payasam
A tasty dessert that anyone will whip up in a minute. Almost regular in all Malayalee homes, the rich cardamom flavored payasam is enticing. Any joyous occasion or sadhya is incomplete without Kerala Semiya Payasam.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 100 g Vermicelli fried lightly
- 2 litre Milk
- 4-5 nos Cardamom
- 10 nos Cashew nut fried
- 2 tbsp Raisin fried, dried grapes
- Sugar, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Boil 2 liter milk in a sause pan. 2)Add fried vermicelli into it and give it a good stir continuously.
Step 2
Add cardamom,cashew nut and raisins and give it a good stir.
Step 3
After vermicelli is well cooked turn off the heat and add sugar as needed.
Step 4
Can be served hot or cold.
Tip
The payasam will thicken significantly as it cools. Stop cooking when it is still slightly thinner than your target consistency.
