Kerala Rajma Masala

Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 250 g Rajma dhal — soak in water overnight
- 2 nos Onion — finely chopped
- 3 nos Tomato — finely chopped
- 2 nos Garlic pods — finely chopped
- 1 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 handful Curry leaves
- 4 tsp Coconut oil
- 1 cup Coconut milk
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook rajma in pressure cooker with salt and turmeric. Set aside.
Step 2
Pour oil into a pan and heat it.
Step 3
Add mustard, curry leaves, garlic and onion one by one.
Step 4
Add tomato and let it cook for about 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add chilli powder, salt and coriander powder.
Step 6
Fry for few seconds.
Step 7
Add the cooked rajma to this with 50 ml water.
Step 8
Let it let it bubble for about 2 minutes.
Step 9
Add coconut milk and remove from stove.
Step 10
Garnish with curry leaves and sprinkle few drops of coconut oil.
Step 11
Goes well with roti, rice, idly or dosa.
