Kerala Prawns Fry with Small Onions, Easy to prepare prawns dish in just 20 minutes. This is a very simple dish with few ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 1/2 kg Prawns cleaned & deveined
- 2 cup Small onions sliced, Cheriya ulli
- 5 nos Green chillies sliced to 2 lengthwise
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Oil, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Curry leaves
Preparation
Step 1
Cook prawns along with salt, turmeric powder and 2 green chillies in sufficient water.
Step 2
Once done there should not be any left over water. :- It should not be cooked more than 6 minutes as overcooking will make prawns hard.
Step 3
Heat oil to a pan.
Step 4
Cook small onions and remaining green chilies for about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Add the prawns and curry leaves.
Step 6
Stir everything together thoroughly and cook for 5 more mins on low heat.
Step 7
Serve while still hot with rice.
Tip
Patience at the dry-roasting stage is everything. The longer you let the moisture evaporate, the more concentrated the flavour becomes.
