Kerala Prawns Curry Spicy
Rich, fragrant, and full-bodied — this prawn curry gets its depth from slow-cooked shallots and a careful balance of chilli heat and tang. Serve with appam, rice, or porotta.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1/2 kg Prawns
- 1 nos Onion big
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp whipped
- 3 - Green chillies — chopped
- 1 nos Tomato large
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Chilly power
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric power
- Salt, to taste
- Water A small cup or, to taste
- 1 large Oil
Preparation
Step 1
Slice onions into very very fine pieces.
Step 2
For that u can put the onion sliced into big pieces into the mixie and turn the nob to left once or twice.
Step 3
Chop tomato into very fine pieces.
Step 4
Pour oil into a kadai and heat it or pan.
Step 5
Add onions and cook until its very well sauteed.
Step 6
Lower the flame and add ginger garlic paste and cook well again.
Step 7
Add chopped tomato and cook well till tomato is well mixed with the gravy.
Step 8
Add coriander, chilli and turmeric powders along with salt and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 9
Add prawns and cook well.
Step 10
Add required water for cooking prawns and cook till prawns is done and the gravy thickens.
Step 11
Goes well with chappati or rice.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
