Kerala Easy Marble Cake
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- 175 g Maida
- 175 g Butter
- 175 g Sugar powder
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 nos Eggs
- 2 tbsp Cocoa powder/chocolate
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 4 tbsp Milk
Preparation
Step 1
First sieve maida and baking powder finely.
Step 2
Mix butter with sugar and blend with a beater or by wooden spoon in a bowl.
Step 3
Add maida and egg(beaten)alternately.
Step 4
After that, divide the mixture into 2 equal halves.
Step 5
To one half, add vanilla essence(dissolve vanilla in 2 tbsp milk) and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 6
To the second half, add cocoa powder/chocolate (dissolve the cocoa in 2 tbsp milk) and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 7
Grease a baking dish with butter and pour this mixtures alternately into it.
Step 8
Stir the mix lightly with a fork.
Step 9
Bake in a hot oven for about 45 minutes.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
