Kappalanga Pulingari

Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 Raw papaya
- 4 Green chilly
- 1 cup Coconut
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 2 Red chilli
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
- 5 Curry leaf
- 1 tsp Coconut oil
Preparation
Step 1
Cook raw papaya pieces with 1 cup of water and turmeric powder for 3 minutes.
Step 2
When it cooked then switch off stove.
Step 3
Grind coconut, cumin seeds, onion and add this ground mix to papaya mix. Add chilli powder and salt and let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Heat the oil in another kadai, add mustards, when it allow to crackles add red chilli and curry leaves,stir for a minute.
Step 5
Add this tempering to papaya mix. Boil for a minute.
Step 6
Now Kappalanga pulingary is ready.
Tip
Coconut oil is the default cooking fat in Kerala kitchens. It adds a depth of flavour that other oils simply cannot match in these recipes.
