Kappa Beef Biryani | Tapioca Beef Biriyani
Embark into the world of Kappa Beef Biryani, a culinary masterpiece that unites the earthy richness of tapioca with the succulent flavors of beef.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 kg Tapioca — cut into small pieces, kappa
- 1 kg Beef — cut into small pieces
- 1 nos Onion — sliced
- 1 tbsp Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Garam masala powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 piece Ginger Cut finely
- 3 nos Garlic cloves Cut finely
- 2 Stems Curry leaves
- Salt, to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Cut tapioca into small pieces and cook with required water and salt. Drain water and set aside.
Step 2
Get a pressure cooker and heat sufficient oil. Fry chopped onions, ginger and garlic.
Step 3
When brown, add rest of the masala powders: chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric and garam masala. Continue frying.
Step 4
Add washed meat and cook till meat is done. Evaporate excess water.
Step 5
Now, mix cooked tapioca(kappa) with beef and keep on low fire for few more minutes.
Step 6
Remove Kappa Beef Biriyani from cooker and serve hot.
Step 7
Kappa and Beef can be used as a full meal or as a part of meal.
Tip
Pressure cooking first saves time, but do not skip the dry-roasting step after — that is where the Kerala beef fry gets its signature dark, caramelised crust.
