Kadalaparippu Peda

Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 2 cup Bengal gram well cooked and mashed well (Kadalaparippu)
- 1/2 Of Coconut — grated
- 4 tsp Butter
- 1 tsp Cardamom powder (Elakka)
- 4 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Water
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing Kadalaparippu Peda, heat up a pan.
Step 2
Add sugar and 1/4 cup of water.
Step 3
Boil till it reaches a thread like consistency.
Step 4
Add the mashed gram and grated coconut into sugar syrup and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 5
Allow it to thicken.
Step 6
When it starts to thicken, add butter and cardamom powder. Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 7
When the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, transfer the contents into a plate greased with ghee.
Step 8
Cut Kadalaparippu Peda into small pieces while it is still hot.
Tip
Jaggery burns easily. Melt it on low heat and always strain it to remove grit before adding it to the mixture.
