Kadala Maavu Halwa Easy
A traditional Kerala sweet that balances richness with restraint. Made with jaggery, coconut, and a careful hand, the sweetness is warm rather than overwhelming — the kind of flavour that lingers.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- Ghee : 1 tsp
- Flour : 1 cup
- Milk : 1 cup
- Sugar : ½ cup
- Nuts, to taste
- Water, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat ghee in a pan.
Step 2
Fry till the aroma comes (do not burn).
Step 3
Add milk.
Step 4
Add the chopped cashews.
Step 5
In another pan prepare sugar syrup (sugar mixed in water andboiled).
Step 6
Add the sugar syrup.
Step 7
Mix it well.
Step 8
Serve while still hot or chilled.
Tip
Ghee quality matters enormously in traditional sweets. Use homemade ghee if you can — the flavour is incomparably richer.
