Home Made Unniyappam
Lacy edges, spongy centre — appam is fermented rice batter swirled in a curved pan until it forms a bowl-shaped pancake. The slight tang from fermentation pairs perfectly with a coconut stew or egg curry.

- Raw Rice ( ) : 2 cups (soak in water (pachari)
- Ripe banana : 3 nos (small
- Jaggery (Sharkara) : 4 nos
- Coconut : ½ cup (slices small), slices
Preparation
Step 1
First soak rice for 3 hours.
Step 2
Grind it in mixer.3) Add banana and jaggery with the rice.
Step 3
Set aside.5) Add the chopped coconut slices in it and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Heat appa chatty, pour little oil in it.
Step 5
Pour a small ladle of the batter. Turn sides and cook it.8) Delicious home made unniyappam is ready.
Tip
A well-seasoned appachatti is worth the investment. The appam should release from the pan without any resistance.
