Home Made Falooda
A dessert cum summer drink with lot of edibles. This is a very popular dessert especially during the height of summers. You will find it very popular in all leading restaurants and street side vendors as well especially in top leading states.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 2 Cups, Milk
- 1/2 Cup, Jelly raspberry or strawberry
- 5-6 Tbsps Strawberry syrup
- 1 tsp Falooda seeds
- 1/2 cup Vermicelli
- 5, sliced Pistachios
- 4, sliced Almonds
- Vanilla ice cream
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing the dessert drink, first bring milk to boil and simmer till it reduces to 1 1/2 cups. Turn off flame and bring to room temperature.
Step 2
Add 1 1/2 to 2 tbsps of strawberry syrup to the milk and mix. Chill until use.
Step 3
Make jelly by following the instructions on the packet. Cool and refrigerate. Once cool, cut into small cubes and set aside.
Step 4
Boil vermicelli. Drain it when cooked. Add some sugar and refrigerate until use.
Step 5
Soak falooda seeds in water for 30 mts and allow to bloom. Set aside.
Step 6
Get the serving glass and add a generous tbsp of strawberry syrup. Add 2 tbsps of jelly cubes, followed by 2 heaped tbsps of bloomed falooda seeds.
Step 7
Next layer with 1/4 cup of vermicelli then fruits. Slowly pour the chilled rose milk till 3/4th of the glass.
Step 8
Next add two scoops of vanilla ice cream on top. Garnish with sliced nuts and a cherry. Serve right away to avoid the ice cream from melting and over flowing. Kids and teenagers love the dessert and during summers you will find them flocking to restaurants and cherishing on the drink.
Tip
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after cooking. Flavours settle and meld during this time, and the texture often improves.
