Healthy Paneer Payasam
Slow-cooked until the milk reduces and turns a gentle pink, this payasam is pure comfort in a bowl. Every Kerala celebration ends with a payasam like this — rich, sweet, and fragrant with cardamom.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- 1 litre Milk
- 100 g Paneer — cut into in square piece
- 1 nos Cardamom (Elakka)
- 4 nos Dates — chopped
- 4 Drops Rose essence
- 1 tsp Pista — powdered
- Saffron, to taste
- 10 nos Badam — soak in water and chop finely
- Sugar, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing paneer payasam, first boil milk. Add paneer cubes, dates, badam and saffron to it and cook it in low flame for 15 minutes. Let it cool.
Step 2
Refrigerate it for some time.
Step 3
Add sugar and essence according to your taste.
Step 4
Decorate it with powdered pista before serving.
