Healthy Daal Easy
Daal is cooked with spinach and other ingredients - Healthy Daal Easy.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 250 g Daal lentils
- 150 g Spinach — chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger — chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic — chopped
- 3 nos Green chillies — chopped
- 2 nos Onion — chopped
- 4 nos Vayana/Vazhana leaves belongs to the family of bay leaf
- 4 nos Cloves (Grambu)
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing healthy daal, wash the daal and soak it in water for 2 hrs.
Step 2
Fry the ingredients ginger, garlic, green chillies, onion, vayana leaves, cloves, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder, and coriander powder.
Step 3
Add spinach to it and cook it in low flame.
Step 4
Add the soaked daal to it and cook in low flame for about 10 minutes.
Step 5
Mix the cooked ingredients well and take it off the heat.
Step 6
Add garam masala and lemon juice before serving.
Step 7

Tip
Fresh curry leaves make a genuine difference. Dried curry leaves are a poor substitute — if you cannot get fresh ones, increase the quantity and fry them longer.
