Healthy Banana Cutlet
Deep-fried until the outside shatters at the first bite and the inside stays soft and flavourful. A tea-time favourite across Kerala, especially when the monsoon rain is hammering the roof.
Ingredientsfor 4 servings
- Banana : 3 nos
- Potato : 1 no
- Green chilly : 1 no
- Bread crumbs : 2 tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Oil : to fry
Preparation
Step 1
First peel the raw Bananas and Potato. Put them in a pressure cooker,Add small amount of water, Steam for 5 minute in a low flame.
Step 2
Remove boiled Potato & Banana from flame and smash them properly.Cut green chilly and onions and add to the smashed banana and potato mixture.
Step 3
Then salt in to it and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Get small amount of the mixture in hand and make it round shape or any shape as per your liking. Take Bread crumbs in plate and roll this cutlet in bread crumbs.
Step 5
Get a tawa put on slow flame.Add 1 tsp oil.Put the Cutlet on the pan. Fry it up to golden brown color on both sides.
Step 6
Remove it from the pan and serve it hot.
Tip
Do not overcrowd the pan — fry in small batches to maintain the oil temperature. Crowding drops the heat and gives you greasy results.
