Green Peas Curry Easy
Frozen green peas cooked in ground coconut paste and other ingredients.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1 Packet Grean peas frozen
- 2 piece Cinnamon (Karugapatta)
- Cloves Few (Grambu)
- 5 To Garlic pods
- 1 nos Onion — chopped
- 1 cup Coconut — grated
- 1 nos Green chilly
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Coconut oil, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Set a pan over medium heat and pour in the oil and fry cinnamon and cloves. Add half of the onion and cook for sometime.
Step 2
Add grated coconut to this and fry till the coconut goes golden brown.
Step 3
Cool it and grind into a smooth paste adding green chilly. Keep the coconut mixture aside.
Step 4
Cook green peas adding some water, turmeric and required salt.
Step 5
Stir in the previously ground coconut mixture and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Fry the rest of the onions separately and add it into the curry. Peas curry is ready.
Step 7
If you are using dry green peas don't forget to soak overnight.
Tip
Taste the gravy before adding the main ingredient. It should be well-seasoned and balanced on its own — the protein or vegetable will dilute it slightly.
