Green Gram Curry - Baby Food(1 To 2 Years)
This homestyle potato curry is built on a foundation of shallots fried dark in coconut oil and spices toasted until they release their full aroma. It tastes even better the next morning, spooned over cold leftover rice.
Ingredientsfor 2 servings
- 1/2 cup Green gram
- 1 tbsp Carrot — mashed
- 1 tbsp Potato — mashed
- Turmeric powder A pinch
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1/2 Of Onion — chopped
- Butter, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Step 1
For preparing green gram curry, cook green gram and vegetables separately.
Step 2
Heat butter in a pan, add onion and garlic. Fry for while.
Step 3
Add the mashed vegetables and green gram and cook well.
Step 4
Add turmeric powder and salt.
Step 5
Add the vegetable stock to it and make it a semi thick gravy.
Step 6
Mix this with rice and little ghee.
Tip
Coconut oil and curry leaves at the very end, off the heat, give the curry its characteristic Kerala aroma. Never skip this final step.
