Green Chilli (Pacha Mulak) Bajji
Green Chilli Bajji is a famous South Indian street side food made by frying battered green chillies. Usually, this Pacha Mulagu Bajji is served as a tea time snack along with Masala tea or hot coffee.
Ingredientsfor 3 servings
- Green Chilli, to taste
- Cleaned and cut Onion : 2 Nos
- Cleaned and cut Ginger : 1 piece
- Cleaned and cut Coriander leaves, to taste
- Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder : 2 tsp
- Garam Masala : 1 tsp
- Salt, to taste
- Basin (Kadala maavu) mixed with water : 1 cup
- Cleaned and Boiled potatoes : 2 Nos
Preparation
Step 1
Make a mix of the cut Onion, Ginger, Coriander leaves and boiled potatoes adding required quantity of salt, Garam masala, Cumin seeds and red chilli powder.
Step 2
Remove the seeds from the green chillies and fill the mixed masala in it as shown in above picutre.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a fry pan and then put the masala filled green chillies in it and when it is cooked well take it out from the oil.
Step 4
Green Chilli Bajji is ready and it can be served with sauce or chutney.
Tip
Oil temperature is critical. Too hot and the outside burns before the inside cooks. Too cool and the snack absorbs oil and turns soggy.
