Grape Juice Easy
A refreshing drink that cools you down on a hot Kerala afternoon. Made with fresh ingredients and served chilled, it is the kind of thing you keep refilling without realising.
Ingredientsfor 6 servings
- 1 kg Grapes Black ones
- 200 g Sugar
- 3 nos Cardamom — powdered (Elakka)
- 2 - Cloves (Grambu)
- 1 piece Cinnamon (Karugapatta)
Preparation
Step 1
Boil grapes in 2 1/2 glass of water.
Step 2
Keep it overnight.
Step 3
Next day, grind it in a mixer or squeeze it with your hands.
Step 4
Remove the skin and extract the juice.
Step 5
Boil water in a pan.
Step 6
Add sugar and make it thick.
Step 7
Add cloves, powdered cardamom and cinnamon and Stir everything together thoroughly.
Step 8
Add the juice to it.
Step 9
Allow it to cool.
Step 10
Keep in refrigerator.
Step 11
Serve chilled.
Tip
Do not rush the onion and shallot frying. The difference between pale onions and properly browned onions is the difference between a flat dish and a flavourful one.
